It is hard to pick out one particular highlight. The whole experience was amazing. Much of the scenery is pristine. The rural areas are a step back in time. Our hosts were unbelievably welcoming, even if we did not share a common language....we had milk fresh from the cow and food fresh from the garden. We even hand milked a cow. We are also aware of the threat to wildlife - that too many visitors can be a problem - our guides advise travelers how to respect fauna and flora.
We will contribute 5 euros per customer to Foundation Conservation Carpathia that aims to create a world-class wilderness reserve in Southern Romanian Carpathians.
People
We are committed to working for a better community for all, in particular in the areas visited by our customers. We are leaders in developing tourism in remote areas of Romania, bringing a source of income through a steady flow of responsible tourists. It is important to balance the impact of visitors with the effect on local communities and we strive to do this in a responsible way.Good relationships have been established with a range of local supplier ranging from those providing accommodation to artisans making products with historical significance. Working with Responsible Travel, we are trying to open up new areas of tourism in Romania by encouraging small groups to visit more remote areas where the income they provide can make a real difference.
