Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your vacation will help support conservation and local people.

We supply our guests with a Travelers Code for Algarve Bike Vacations encouraging responsible waste disposal, respect for the environment, eating locally & shoping at the local markets and learning a few words of Portuguese. We recommend they familiarise themselves with the rules for each National Park or protected area. We supply the 'Algarve Cultural Heritage' guide giving the guests access to explore the alternative Algarve steeped in treasures and history........
We also supply a reuseable Water Bottle for each traveler to use while on this trip.
In our office we attempt to conduct our business paper free, communicating mainly be e mail with clients, suppliers and partners. Any unused or spoilt paper is recycled as scrap for notes in the office. We dispose of our office waste responsibly in the local recycling bins provided near to the office. We also dispose of any waste ink cartridges or dead batteries in the correct manner.
The Impacts of this Trip
Over the last couple of years we have developed good working relationships with our suppliers and partners. The hotels that we use for our Bike Vacations are all vetted by the company and are welcoming to our cyclists. They help them with storing their bikes overnight and share their local knowledge with the cyclists, thereby giving the clients the best experience whilst in any particular area of the Algarve. We also relay to the clients any local knowledge we have gained ourselves, especially with cafes and restaurants along the route, where we know they will receive a warm welcome by the locals and a strong coffee and special cakes to sustain their energy levels! We also advise our clients of any local festivals and local traditions that they may come across on their route, always encouraging them to partake! Just as importantly we try to advise the clients of any diversions they may need to take in their routes due to roadworks or dangerous situations.
Our office is located in the old town in the heart of Albufeira close to many shops and restaurants, we use the facilities ourselves and recommend the other businesses, especially the cafes and restaurants to our customers.
As a tour operator we take bookings for the various activities in and around Albufeira, earning a small commission in the process. Many of our neighbours also advertise our bike hire and tours, for which they receive a commission, thereby distributing the revenue from the tourist trade.

1 Reviews of Short cycling break in the Algarve
Reviewed on 13 Mar 2020 by Chris Wood-Gee
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Just a really good break with good quality bikes in a very beautiful and friendly country. A good route which had the required changes in landscape which
helps keep up interest. Good hotels and organisation with very good local food to sample.
2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
enjoy yourself
3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
the encouragement to spend local particularly in the food sector will I hope help to keep income local and support local primary suppliers. This particular
trip did not have conservation focus but cycling rather than motorised transport is lower footprint and as such will have lower impact on air quality etc
4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Had a really great time and would recommend to anyone else. We were not particularly fit and the routes and lengths of the days worked out fine.
