We conduct regular environmental reviews of our trips and suppliers to help identify opportunities to improve environmental practices and reduce impacts where possible.

To help reduce the use of single use plastic bottles, refill stations are available at most of our overnight accommodation and many activity locations. Travelers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, and reusable INTRO branded bottles are available to purchase for those who need one.

As part of our Small Change initiative, we support a range of environmental and community focused projects. In 2019, we partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to plant 10 trees for every booking received.

Throughout New Zealand, the itinerary includes a variety of outdoor activities and local transport options. We work with local suppliers that support our responsible travel standards, and many experiences throughout the trip take place on foot, allowing travelers to explore New Zealand's landscapes through guided hikes and walks.

People

The fascinating Maori culture is an important part of any New Zealand experience and we infuse traditional Maori experiences that directly benefit the local community throughout our itinerary. Including spending time with a Maori tribe and sharing a traditional 'Hangi' meal with them.

Our guides, transport providers and local team are provided with extensive training, support and benefits that go beyond just fair remuneration. They have the opportunity to not only show off their local area, but develop their guiding skills through our comprehensive training program. They also are given the opportunity to move to other destinations and expand their knowledge and skill set.

All groups are given extensive cultural tips and education along the way so they are sensitive too and can have meaningful and beneficial exchanges with the local community at all our stops. We do this in fun, playful way and reward group members that take the time to learn about the local culture we experience.
