Ferry services are employed for inter-island travel, further substituting the need for short-distance flights and relying instead on efficient marine transport. Throughout the vacation, guests are encouraged to embrace slow travel by walking in historic city centers and pedestrianized areas, which not only offers an immersive experience but also reduces overall emissions. Local guides are briefed to inform travelers about reducing carbon impacts, including choosing vegetarian and vegan menu options, which are available at most meals and feature Sicily’s rich seasonal produce.
