CARBON REDUCTION:

This allows us to measure the environmental impact of every tailor-made vacation. By working closely with our suppliers through a detailed carbon-scoring survey, we gain clear insight into what’s working well and where we can make meaningful improvements.

Sango safari camp is an eco-conscious accommodation option, using solar power and biodegradable cleaning products that are kind to nature. Waste is separated at the accommodation and transported to Maun to be disposed of.
Chobe Elephant Camp utilises sandbag construction methods to reduce the use of cement, plus solar power for heating and reclaimed or restored wood for furnishings.

ENVIRONMENT & WILDLIFE:
At Camp Kalahari, there are guided walks where you can explore Botswana’s nature and wildlife first hand under the expert eye of the bushmen from the Zu’/hoasi tribe.
You will have the chance to see an array of wildlife during your trip. The Chobe riverfront is home to the highest concentration of elephants in Africa. So whilst the Chobe Elephant Camp might be situated in a busy region of Botswana, you will have unforgettable game viewing; including elephants in close proximity to your safari vehicle, hippos and buffalos on the plains, and possibly even spot lions on the hunt.

People

LOCAL ECONOMY:
Camp Kalahari operates a partnership with local communities which helps to support conservation efforts and maintains the cultural preservation of the local area. Zu’/hoasi bushmen are involved in the safari activities, so local indigenous community members are taking active measures to preserve their culture and surroundings in nature.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY & DIVERSITY:
The Victoria Falls canopy tour activity involves zip lines and suspension bridges. You have the chance to explore the natural surroundings and vegetation, and the location provides employment opportunities to local communities. There is also the option for a guided walk at Camp Kalahari, plus a trip to the Bakota Gorge. Both Chobe elephant camp and Sango safari camp offer employment opportunities within their local communities, noticeably supporting the livelihoods of the Zu’/hoasi bushmen. At Sango safari camp, the indigenous community co-exists alongside the wildlife, creating a form of 'living landscape'. There is also the chance for a village visit for guests who want to get a deeper understanding of life in this region.
