Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

CARBON REDUCTION

Our guides don’t just know these mountains—they care for them. Their first responsibility is to protect the very landscapes they help you discover. That commitment shapes every decision we make, on trail and behind the scenes.

This is responsible travel in action: smaller groups, lighter footprints, and a team that treats the Canadian Rockies like the living, breathing home they are. When you hike with us, you’re choosing a trip that puts the planet first—without sacrificing comfort, safety, or unforgettable views.

This multi sport tour includes carbon free activities such as cycling, hiking, rafting.

Transport is shared to reduce impact.

Vegetarian food is available throughout.

ENVIRONEENT AND WILDLIFE

The activities included on this tour are carried out in a way that respect the local environment that we travel through and the wildlife that resides along our path.

A cornerstone of our approach is an extensive waste-management program aligned with Banff National Park guidelines. We don’t just “recycle when we can”—we make sure recycling actually happens. That means:

Verify: We first confirm each item is truly recyclable in our region.

Clean: We rinse and remove food residue—because contaminated materials get diverted to landfill.

Sort: We separate materials into the correct streams so they’re processed properly, not wish-cycled.

Beyond waste reduction, we prioritize low-impact operations and thoughtful partnerships. We work exclusively with local partners who share our sustainability values—businesses that minimize packaging, reduce transport footprints, and operate responsibly. Together, we keep more dollars in the community while lowering the environmental cost of your adventure.

People

LOCAL ECONOMY

Your adventure is made possible by the dedication of local people who work—both directly and indirectly—with our National Park services. We cover all required park fees and permits for your visit. These funds go straight back into the parks, supporting conservation initiatives, visitor safety, trail maintenance, and overall guest experience. Parks staff are among the primary employers in Banff and Jasper, so your visit helps sustain the small mountain communities that call these places home.

These parks hold remarkable history and vibrant culture, and our guides are proud to share those stories on the trail—bringing the landscapes to life with local knowledge and a deep respect for the places we explore.

We also strengthen the community by partnering with small, locally owned businesses. We’re deliberate about who we work with—choosing partners who are local, reputable, and aligned with our standards for safety, professionalism, and environmental stewardship.

When you travel with us, you’re not only experiencing the Canadian Rockies at their best—you’re directly supporting the people and systems that protect them.

EMPLOYMENT, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSIVITY

All guides are local and we use locally owned and run accommodation.

This tour is LGBTQ+ friendly.
