CARBON REDUCTION

This itinerary is designed to minimise domestic flights and maximise overland travel, allowing travelers to discover Madagascar while reducing the carbon impact of internal transport.

Accommodation is mainly provided by locally owned Malagasy hotels and lodges, including Le Chat'o Park Hotel, Relais du Kirindy, Olympe du Bemaraha, Ecolodge de Menabe, Satrana Lodge and Lemurs Lodge. We favour partners that reduce plastic use, implement waste sorting and promote responsible water management.

Local and seasonal food is widely available throughout the tour, and vegetarian options are offered in most accommodations and restaurants.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

The itinerary includes visits to major protected areas and biodiversity hotspots such as Kirindy Forest, Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Isalo National Park, Ranomafana National Park and Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. Entrance fees contribute directly to their conservation.

Visitors are accompanied by licensed local guides who share their knowledge of Madagascar’s unique wildlife, including lemurs, reptiles, birds and baobabs, while raising awareness of conservation challenges.

We promote responsible wildlife observation and encourages travelers to respect park regulations, stay on designated trails and protect natural habitats. Through our Travelife commitment, we continuously encourage our partners to improve their environmental practices.

LOCAL ECONOMY

The vast majority of accommodation providers, restaurants, transport services and tourism suppliers used on this itinerary are locally owned Malagasy businesses. Tourism revenue generated by this tour therefore remains largely within Madagascar and directly benefits local communities.

The itinerary creates employment and income opportunities for local guides, drivers, boat operators, artisans, restaurant owners and small businesses in destinations including Bekopaka, Belo sur Mer, Morombe, Ambatomilo, Ranomafana and Andasibe.

Travelers are encouraged to purchase locally made handicrafts and products from local markets and artisans, helping support traditional skills and community livelihoods throughout the country.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY

We are a Malagasy company and 100% of our employees are Malagasy nationals. We work predominantly with Malagasy guides, drivers and local service providers, ensuring that the economic benefits of tourism directly support local employment.

We are committed to fair and ethical employment practices and comply with Malagasy labour legislation. We promote equal opportunities regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion or background and strive to maintain an inclusive and respectful working environment.

The tour encourages positive cultural exchanges between visitors and local communities while respecting local traditions, customs and ways of life. Travelers receive guidance on cultural sensitivity and responsible behaviour throughout the journey.

Through our Travelife sustainability commitment, we continuously work to improve social responsibility, strengthen community engagement and maximise the positive impacts of tourism for local people across Madagascar.
