Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
CARBON REDUCTIONThe main contribution on this trip regarding carbon reduction is that you will be here for 8 days and traveling the whole length of the country. 7 of those 8 days you will be cycling.
Cycling vacations are the most sustainable way to travel as they have little negative impact on the local infrastructure, environment and people while encouraging positive interaction with local people. We cycle on routes that are removed from mass tourism, creating less pollution, noise and traffic.
In all accommodation where we stay solar panels are used to provide your hot water and in some cases a portion of your general electricity needs. With Portugal having over 300 days a year of sunshine, solar power is high on the list of its priorities.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
By keeping our tour groups small, we significantly reduce our physical footprint and prevent habitat disruption in Portugals sensitive ecosystems. We intentionally design our itineraries around direct interactions with local hosts and restaurateurs who practice low-impact living. This immersive approach educates our travelers on region-specific conservation efforts, inspiring them to carry these vital environmental and wildlife protection habits back to their own communities.

LOCAL ECONOMYWhilst traveling with us, you will spend seven nights experiencing a varied style of unique accommodations. We strongly prioritize authentic stays, including a comfortable locally owned hotel and a privately owned house beautifully renovated from a ruin into a modern property by an inspiring local family. We even stay in a traditional Portuguese property owned by a multi-generational village family that proudly retains its original charm. In total, six of the seven properties are completely locally owned. This deliberate choice ensures your tourism capital directly supports the regional economy, helps preserve historic architecture, and creates sustainable long-term income for local residents.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
Our vacation trip is thoughtfully designed for absolutely anybody who enjoys active cycling around the great outdoors, regardless of faith, race, gender, sexual orientation, or nationality. We are proudly LGBTQ+ friendly and actively cultivate a welcoming, entirely safe environment for everyone. We firmly believe travel should always unite people, warmly inviting active riders from all backgrounds to join us.
