San Agustin El Dorado (Cusco) – The hotel use led lights in most of the rooms and common areas to reduce energy consumption.

Tunupa Lodge (Ollantaytambo) – The hotel has solar panels to provide energy to common areas and use led lights in all rooms.

Hatun Inti Classic (Aguas Calientes): The hotel has lights that turn off automatically if sensors don’t feel movements during a certain time. Also, they reduced the use of single plastic, replacing them for biodegradable items.

El Tambo Dos (Lima): The property use regular electricity however they implemented led lights in rooms and common areas.

Vegetarian and vegan meals are available upon request. We strive to accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions throughout our trips. If a traveler requires vegetarian or vegan options, we can provide suitable meals each day. However, we kindly ask that these preferences be communicated in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements with our local teams.

We prioritize the use of locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, especially during the excursions at the Sacred Valley and Titicaca Lake. In terms of sustainability, we follow strict waste management protocols during these activities. Organic and inorganic waste is separated, and we work closely with local municipalities to ensure proper recycling. These efforts also benefit local recyclers by creating economic opportunities. Additionally, we are actively working to reduce the use of single-use plastics. We use eco-friendly products whenever possible and encourage responsible consumption throughout our operations.

The itinerary includes one domestic flights (Juliaca-Lima). This is necessary due to the long distance and lack of efficient rail alternative in Peru. However, overland segments (e.g., Cusco-Puno) are completed by road to minimize additional flights. Transport is primarily by domestic flight, shared & private vehicles, train to Machu Picchu and boat for navigation on the Titicaca Lake.

For Machu Picchu, travelers are transported by shared train and shuttle bus, but for the rest of the itinerary we consider private vehicle just for the group. The itinerary includes guided walking visits in Cusco (Day 2).

We provides travelers with information encouraging responsible travel practices, such as bringing reusable water bottles, reducing plastic use, and respecting local resources. Tour leaders also reinforce these guidelines during the trip.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

hotels apply actions to reduce environmental impacts such as the correct use of waste, disaggregation of plastics, glass and other material. They coordinate with local municipality for the correct treatment of these wastes. Also, most of them provide water dispenser so our travelers can refill their bottle of water.

Hatun Inti Classic uses native plants in their gardens to support local biodiversity, reduce maintenance needs, and preserve the natural landscape of the Machu Picchu sanctuary.

Tunupa Lodge hotel compost the hotel’s organic waste and use the fertilizer for our fruit trees and gardens.

Most of our guides have expensive knowledge about wildlife in the dessert area of Uyuni and some of them come from the local communities or small villages. They have extensive knowledge of the region’s biodiversity, ecosystems, and cultural heritage.

LOCAL ECONOMY

All hotels are locally owned, but San Agustin El Dorado and Casona Plaza are part of a local chain.

For all our trip itineraries, we hire local guides who have a deep understanding of the region’s culture and traditions. Our programs also include visits to authentic Andean communities in the Sacred Valley and on the Titicaca Lake, allowing travelers to engage with the community and support the local economy. Through these efforts, we aim to ensure that as many local people as possible benefit from tourism in a sustainable and respectful way.

EMPLOYMENT , DIVERSITY and INCLUSIVITY

This product includes the support of women of locals community in the Sacred Valley who shared their traditions with our travelers, generating an additional income to support their families and kids. We’re always to commit to responsible tourism and we’re able to create meaningful opportunities for them to get a better income.

We are fully committed to promoting diversity, inclusivity, and respect for all individuals, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. Our team, including guides and staff, is trained to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for every traveler. We believe that travel should be an enriching experience for everyone, and we strive to create spaces where all guests feel valued and respected.

Not for this product, but we are always committed to inclusivity and do our best to accommodate all travelers if necessary, however traveling to Amantani Island during the Titicaca Lake can be physically demanding due to terrain and altitude. For this reason, we evaluate each case individually to ensure the traveler receives all the necessary information.

The trip is fully operated by local partners: All guides, drivers, and service providers are local hires. For the Sacred Valley and Titicaca Lake experiences , the program works with locally families and community projects. Approximately 99% of staff employed for this itinerary are locals, with a significant proportion (especially drivers, hotel staff, and community projects) coming directly from the local communities visited.
