After the hustle and bustle of the city it is amazing to find such a peaceful oasis so close to the city. It was wonderfully relaxing to sit on the porch watching the sunset over the water (and to have an open air shower under the moon)! Read full reviewReviewed on 20 Oct 2019 by Leighann Starkey

You will experience a backwater destination far from the normal tourist trail but located close to Cochin, and there are only two accommodations here to preserve the character of the destination, protect the environment, local people and the host family. We are inspected and approved by the Department of Tourism, Kerala.
People
Our accommodation is located in Kumbalangi village, one of the 15 selected rural tourism destinations of the country. The village people are very friendly and helpful - this is a home away from home where you can enjoy and really get a chance to know a local family and community. The house, cottage and the garden are maintained by using local material and workmen. The fish, prawn, crab, coconut oil, some fruits and vegetables are collected locally. The host family completely depend on this homestay enterprise to earn a living, educate their 2 sons and to maintain these old buildings and 3 acre coconut garden. The local country boatman, taxi drivers, tuktuk man, toddy taper, local prawn farm family, fishermen, men and women working in the garden, cleaning the house are all benefited out of this unique homestay service.
