Our tours have a low impact on the environment due to our small group numbers and the vehicles we use. We run vehicles that suits the size of our group that we are showing around. These may be people movers and small diesel mini buses. We do not run large buses or old vehicles and therefore have a low carbon output per paying passenger. When a hybrid version of these vehicles becomes available we will be making a change to a greener fleet of vehicles.

We provide refillable water bottles and water for our clients so that they are not buying numerous bottles of water while with us. As well as saving on the cost of buying water our clients are not adding to the escalating landfill due to disposable water bottle consumption. We also save water by cleaning our vehicles with high pressure washers and only use biodegradable cleaning products.

People

We explain and actively promote sustainable growth in the Great Ocean Road region. We have recently lent our support to the people of Apollo Bay to stop a golf course development that would have doubled the size of the town. This development would have severely hampered the utility services to the town let alone the impact of the construction traffic incurred during the building phase. The designated are in flood plain would have required 1 million cubic meters of landfill to raise it to a safe height. This equates to 20 trucks of landfill per day for 4 years.
A new development for a learning center to explain the pre-historic history of the area is something we are supporting. A temporary center was built this year to bring polar dinosaurs of the Otway ranges to peoples attention. We took many of our groups there and will continue to support a more permanent development on the property where the dinosaurs were found by Dr Tom Rich in 1987
