This vacation in Borneo benefits the Dusun, Iban and Kadazan, indigenous communities by employing indigenous guides and staff, including key roles such as an accountant, who is Dusun from Tuaran town in Sabah. Additionally, the majority of the staff are indigenous peoples with the operation manager from the Iban tribe in Sarawak, the senior reservation executive, and the reservation executive from the Kadazan tribe in Telupid, Sabah. This local employment supports the community's economic development and cultural preservation.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Seeing a large male Orangutan and watching him for an hour.
2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Avoid the Bungraya resort at the end, all the others were great but this
resort is full of scam and con.
3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes we benefited locals (except at Bungraya which is Dutch) and we supported conversation. The guides were very involved with conversation and we supported them directly.
4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Great. We loved the trip.

I am going to private email you as we would like some further information . As you know Bungraya is the beach extension element and there are limited offerings with good snorkelling however we would not recommend them if there were problems.

WILDLIFEOn this tour we support a number of wildlife sanctuaries. You will have the opportunity to visit the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, where orphaned and rescued Orangutans receive medical care and are reintroduced to 'wild' living as much as possible.
The brand new Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, takes care of the cutest bear in the world. Be part of this solution by adopting one of them as we did! Labuk Bay Proboscic monkeys Sanctuary 400 plus acres of mangrove forest initially bought for commercial development, but the plan was quickly dropped so that these monkeys could continue to survive there without fear of losing their natural habitat.

People
VOLUNTEERING & CHARITYVolunteering and charity work is really important to us. We ensure to do both equally. We support a key volunteering project giving them visibility throughout our distribution channel and showing to people their ‘modus operandi’. Every year we support and visit an orphanage house where we ensure that we spend a lot of important time together playing with kids, donating. organizing and fundraising. This is something we make sure of doing each year - a promise to them.
A FAIR DEAL
We support the local community and notably the majority of our staff is made up of local people. Some examples: Barshall our operation manager comes from Iban tribe in Sarawak, as does Rosa our senior reservation. Venissa – reservation executive comes from Kadazan tribe in Telupid – Sabah Petronella- account is a Dusun and come from Tuaran town in Sabah, also Rex, Rijan, Charles, Zaedi are all Malaysian are all from different area of Malaysia and comes from different ethnic group. We see this as being very important as local knowledge is very important. We 100% support the community.
