It is important to us that when we travel we give as well as take and do all that we can to preserve the natural riches of Vietnam’s rich environment and culture. Our ground agents have been chosen because they share our beliefs and give their support to local NGO’s, community and environmental projects. They do not include excursions which do not have good wildlife practices and are currently compiling a comprehensive wildlife and welfare policy to ensure that this is upheld and followed. They are also certified members of Travelife, which means that all their responsible tourism practices must be quantified and recorded.

This itinerary has been put together to take into account the most efficient and economical mode of transport for seeing the country. For example cycle and walking options are included where possible. This not only allows for seeing more of the country, at a leisurely pace, and provides the opportunity to meet and interact with local people, and is also an environmentally friendly alternative.

Our ground agents try to ensure that your accommodation provides a responsible stay wherever possible. For example your hotel in Sapa is working to reduce its overall energy consumption and contributes towards the improvement of the local community to ensure the sustainable growth of tourism in the area. The hotel was built using sustainable resources including tropical hardwoods and local stone and bricks. It has been designed to blend in with the environment, uses energy-efficient lighting and provides organic soap and toiletries instead of heavily packaged products. They also work hard to re-use and recycle.

Our Ground Agent supports local investment through the training of local guides. Not only do they take pride in their heritage but they love sharing their stories with guests to make for a memorable and authentic trip.
Your trip includes a visit and hands-on experience of Batik painting in Sapa. Guests can partake in local traditions and when any works of art are purchased the money goes to toward the upkeep of the local H’Mong ladies livelihoods. Inclusions such as the Batik Painting help cultures remain strong through supportive and respectful visits from guests.

You will also spend time with local farmers learning about rice cultivation and the rigours of growing it. Roll up your sleeves and head out into the paddy fields, or grab your fishing rod and take to the river. Your involvement will not only help support the local farmers but also increases awareness of where the food you see on a supermarket shelf may have come from.
