To ensure that current and future generations can continue to experience these things we have perfectly utilised sustainable transport options – such as the trek – wherever possible in order to reduce our reliance on other modes of transport that continue to pollute. As we will spend large parts of the tour on foot, this will help us reduce our carbon footprints and help ensure that will minimise the impacts unfortunately caused by the growth of tourism in the region.

Conservation:
In order to help preserve what remains of both China’s wonderful cultural and natural heritage (a key example being Wenshu/Manjushri Monastery) we ask that all of our travel participants help protect the environments they visit by being respectfully aware of the unique locations we take them to. For example, it is better to take garbage bags and distribute them to tourists individually to collect the garbage produced within the hiking and touring. We require our guides to be familiar with the environment including local plantings and animals to give proper suggestions on tourists’ behaviors on the spots to protect the environment. We insist on taking trails instead of getting invaded in the areas that are forbidden to get in.


Water:
It is certain that the water is very important during a trekking tour. We suggest to bring your own travel mug to fill in the boiled water before every morning instead of drinking the bottled mineral water continually. Even though the tap water is not drinkable in China, all of the hotels and restaurants we use will have a kettle which can be used to boil. Such measure could really reduce the amount of rubbish we produce.

Office:
It is advocated to recycle paper and ink cartridges to reduce the waste in landfill sites. We turn off printers, computers, battery chargers and transformers at the end of each day and use energy-efficient bulbs and low-energy appliances.

People

Our itinerary has been designed to fully incorporate the local communities of the regions we visit and we are exceptionally sensitive to the needs of indigenous people. We value their unique insights, knowledge, and hospitality, and believe that they too should benefit from tourism too.

Local Supplier and their services:
We choose and use local suppliers that match our environmental values.We use local services as much as possible to produce more job opportunities for local community. We conduct indoor training and on the spot training to equip our escorted services providing guides scenic spots information, necessary communication skills, proper knowledge of clients’ home countries culture and so on to make them qualified in their work. We respect our providers and we pay fair wage to our own employees and fair prices to all kinds of resources we purchased.

Accommodation, Meals and Culture:
Along this trekking tour, we use locally-owned guesthouses, hotels and restaurants to ensure that local communities and business prosper in a highly competitive market. An using locally-owned services(like vehicle, drivers and tour guides) is that they will often be highly enthusiastic, generous and proud to welcome you into the places. Please be aware that we will be exposed to range of different cultures, ethnic groups and people of different religious beliefs and that we should be respectful of their needs at all times.

Group Size:
This small group tour has a maximum of 16 participants, meaning that we have a low impact on the environments and communities we visit and are able to ensure that we do not disrupt or lead to the displacement of local people.
