We always encourage our travelers to be responsible about discarding waste properly as well as to be mindful about the amounts of waste produced. Our expert guides will also be there to instruct everyone on how to dispose of waste properly as not to disturb or destroy some of the beautiful, natural habitats we'll see. Iceland for example, has very good tap water that is perfectly safe for consumption, so we strongly suggest that all of our travelers bring a re-usable water bottle and fill them up with tap water. This cuts down on a lot of plastic waste.

While interaction with wildlife will be limited, any interaction had will be with the well-being of the wildlife of the utmost priority. The local guides we work with are well-trained and will instruct all travelers on how to behave responsibly around any wildlife encountered. For example, on this trip you will have the option to go whale watching and the boat captains have conservation mind. This once in a lifetime opportunity will give you the chance to see whales in their natural environment.

We ask that everyone on the trip keep in mind the importance of not wasting energy and turning off the lights to their hotel rooms when not needed or leaving for the day.

During the trip, we will take 1 mini bus that is spacious enough for our group. This way, we don't have to take multiple cars and use more gasoline which in turn, causes more air pollution. Also, many of our activities involve hiking, so that also cuts down on the amount of emissions we create.

All of our suppliers are native Icelanders and we request that they follow our guidelines for responsible tourism. Our guides are also Icelandic and have the future and beauty of their country in mind and thus, are dedicated to responsible tourism so that we can enjoy their breathtaking homeland and keep it that way for future travelers.

People

All of the activities on this trip such as the horse riding are locally owned and run and our local guides know all the best places for you to get locally made souvenirs all while supporting the Icelandic economy. We also dine at locally owned restaurants and not the large scale chain tourist ones.

Our local guide who will be with us throughout the tour will be able and more than ready to enlighten you about local issues, how Icelanders are trying to ameliorate them and what you can do to help.

All of our guides are paid a fair wage in line the standard of living in Iceland, which is very good. So good that few guides have to work for tips and despite this, they are proud of their country so they want to show you the best that it has to offer!

You will have the chance to visit a fair amount of local craft makers and artisans to buy locally made products and support small business owners. These make for great souvenirs that you can feel good about!

Our small group trips help us integrate better into the local culture and scenes and have less of an adverse impact on the local society and other travelers. For example, a large tour group can take up all the seats on a local bus or book out an entire restaurant forcing locals and other travelers away from their preferences.
