Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your vacation will help support conservation and local people.

The Isles of Scilly is the perfect car-free destination, for the simple reason that visitors cannot bring cars onto the island. Car hire is not offered on the island, making this the perfect destination for those actively seeking low-carbon destinations, and also who wish to cycle or walk as much as possible during their vacation. The guided excursion on this vacation is a full-day walking tour with a local guide Travel between the islands is via a boat service.
We are members of AITO – The Association of Independent Tour Operators – and adhere to their strict environmental code of conduct.
We predominantly market our vacations via the internet. We produce a small quantity of compact brochures each year for past customers and inquirers. If we do have any printed materials left over, we always ensure these are recycled.
The Impacts of this Trip
For us, true sustainability means promoting and helping to maintain a way of life in remote locations, where the economic benefit from tourism can make a genuine difference. For this reason, each of the accommodations selected on this vacation are small and locally owned in areas that are a little off the beaten track, to ensure you get an authentic experience in each location. The guided walking tour in St Mary’s is with a hand-selected local expert. Travel between the islands is via a boat service run by an association of local boatmen, and represents a way of life that has barely changed in centuries.
We directly employ a small team of local people in Glasgow, who travel to work by public transport, cycling or on foot. We ensure staff undertake at least two recce visits in a year so that we can always recommend and include the best local experiences and restaurants throughout Scotland, England, Ireland & Wales. All staff share our values of environmental and sustainable responsibility.
