Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

This small group adventure spends two nights in the capital and a further two nights in a rural property in the heart of Iceland's Golden Circle, close to Gulfoss. We make the most of being able to visit at quieter times of the day helping us avoid the crowds and really appreciate this beautiful natural wonder.

Being based in such a remote location for the middle two days means we don't have to travel each evening to avoid the light pollution found in the cities, we can just step outside and appreciate the stars and if we are lucky watch the incredible Northern Lights dance across the sky.

Water in Iceland is excellent quality and we encourage all customers to carry a re-usable bottle with them and fill up during the day, avoiding the need for single-use plastic bottles.

As a travel company we are continually looking for ways to improve and are proud to be ‘Responsible in everything we do’. Education is key, and so all staff, Tour Leaders and partnering suppliers are trained in responsible and sustainable tourism. At our Head Office, we continually strive towards a sustainable and planet-friendly working environment, including having solar panels installed and a company commitment to reducing our plastic usage.

People

We travel with Icelandic guides which allows us to learn all about modern life in Iceland and hear the history as their share local myths and legends that have been passed down through the generations.

As a company we have valuable and longstanding partnerships with UK charities Toilet Twinning and Send a Cow, plus many smaller initiatives and projects around the world. We’re members of the UK travel industry body AITO because we believe it’s important to share our knowledge and experience, as well as learn from other operators.
