Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
Koshi Tappu is a diverse wildlife reserve which is home to hundreds of species protecting them from extinction. This endangered fauna such as the last surviving population of wild buffalo or arna and several other animals are conserved in this reserve which is open to tourists. This is a unique chance to see endangered animals and birds through a jungle safari in a beautiful location of Koshi Tappu. All the money for the entrance ticket is used to maintain the area which is very well taken care and protected as a result, and also creates a salary for the workers there.
It is important not to litter and carry out all the garbage. We humbly ask guests to avoid and minimise the use of plastic products: bags, bottle, travel kits, cups, straws, etc. We all know the consequences if some wild animal or a bird swallows the plastic.
Drinkable water is very clean in Nepal. The best option is to bring your BPA-free bottle and use water purifiers instead of buying mineral water in plastic.
One of the best sources for energy in Nepal is solar panels. All our suppliers slowly are trying to improve the eco-friendliness style: solar energy, gas stoves, locally-made furniture.
People
All our tours are run by locals (drivers, guides, assistants). We provide our members with great conditions: salary right after the tour is over, insurance, accommodation, meals, transportation, clothes and shoes. We always employ locals guides from the area of the trip so we don't need to send guides only from Kathmandu, and in this way we are able to create income for locals in remote areas where tourists usually don't travel to.We stay at hotels run by locals and eat a local restaurants as well. We recommend local cuisine to the customers instead of imported foods this helps to support the local farming and avoid food miles.
Lots of souvenirs and gifts from Nepal are hand-made and are made using recycled materials there will plenty of opportunities to purchase these souvenirs.
