We take pride in creating an authentic African cultural and safari experience that is ethical, sustainable and responsible. We are passionate about giving back to the Africa with a portion of our profits going towards the various communities that we visit, and charities that we support on route. With our small group travel, we create an intimate cultural and safari experience and by that we interact with local cultures and stay in environmentally sensitive areas, we do not leave a large footprint.
All entrance fees for the national parks we visit such as the Pilanesberg National Park are used by the local authorities to maintain and improve the condition and infrastructure of the national parks and for running regular anti-poaching patrols.
Participants on this trip are not allowed to litter the environment but are rather encouraged to sensitize the visited communities on environmental protection issues such as recycling of waste materials and water management by treating used water to make it appropriate for a specific end-use such as drinking and irrigation.

People

In all our tours wherever possible we use locally owned accommodation establishments which are involved in local responsible tourism initiatives. This provides direct benefits to local communities through employment. We avoid large hotel chains and more commercial properties but opt for simple self-catering lodge and tented camps for accommodation in rural areas. By doing this we create an intimate environment for the group away from the large scale tourism and the communities around the accommodation benefit directly through employment. This creates pride and further interest in sustainable tourism as the communities have tangible benefits from tourism. Our tours focus on out of the way destinations, and as such, our “spend” is distributed into the rural areas we visit.
In addition, we employ local guides for certain activities on the tour. These local initiatives help to maintain local cultures and also sustain the ideals of wildlife conservation. The employment of local guide adds value to our travelers visit because they can gain specific local knowledge and expertise from the people who actually live permanently in the area they are visiting.
