We work closely with long-established local partners who have supported responsible travel across Indonesia since 2003, focusing on experiences that respect natural ecosystems and encourage a slower, more thoughtful way of exploring the country.

Before and during your trip, we share clear guidance on how to travel responsibly in Bali and beyond. This includes simple ways to support local businesses, traveling with an open mind and leaving places just as you found them. We also provide advice on avoiding animal exploitation and choosing ethical wildlife experiences. The aim is to help you explore thoughtfully, with respect for both the environment and the people who call it home.

Getting around in Indonesia is also planned with care for the places you’re traveling through. While many transfers are by private vehicle, we encourage a slower pace and longer stays in each location to help reduce pressure on the environment. Once you arrive, exploring on foot or by bike is often the most low-impact way to experience places like Ubud and smaller towns, allowing you to move gently through landscapes and connect more closely with local life. Traveling this way helps limit your footprint while offering a more thoughtful way to explore Indonesia.

Back in the UK, we aim to practise what we stand for. Our Brighton-based team works from a B-Corp-certified office, operates largely paper-free and partners with Earthly to support nature-based projects that remove carbon, restore biodiversity and improve livelihoods. A small contribution is included in every itinerary, helping protect the landscapes and communities that make travel through Indonesia so special.

We believe in putting people first, and a big part of that is bringing you closer to the real Indonesia through genuine local connections. In Bali, this means stepping beyond the beach clubs and hotspots to experience daily life at a more local pace. You might explore villages and rice fields with a local guide, visit small family-run workshops, or spend time learning about Balinese traditions that shape everyday life on the island.

Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to interact with local communities in a natural, respectful way. Whether it’s sharing a meal prepared with local ingredients, chatting with your guide about life in Bali, or visiting a traditional village temple, these moments offer a deeper insight into the culture and customs of the island.

Throughout Indonesia, we work with local guides who are paid fairly and know their home region inside out. Their knowledge adds real depth to your experience, while ensuring tourism income goes directly to the people who live and work here. By choosing locally run activities and experiences, more of the money you spend stays within the community.

Our local partners share our people-first values and long-term commitment to responsible tourism. Based in the destination, they employ local staff on fair terms and work closely with communities to create experiences that reflect everyday life in Bali and beyond. By prioritising local employment, training and collaboration with village initiatives, tourism income is kept within the community and contributes directly to local livelihoods and long-term wellbeing.
