CARBON REDUCTION

We actively encourage low-carbon travel and have designed this vacation around the overnight sleeper train from Paris, which we recommend as the easiest and most sustainable way to reach the Southern French Alps. We're happy to help guests plan their journey by rail.

To reduce the environmental impact of the vacation, we stay at a single accommodation base throughout the weekend, avoiding unnecessary transfers and daily linen changes, while shared transport is used to reach the climbing areas.

We minimise paper use by providing travel information digitally through our smartphone app and plant a tree on behalf of every traveler through our partnership with Mossy Earth. We've also calculated the greenhouse gas emissions for this vacation using Carmacal, allowing guests to see the carbon footprint of their trip.

ENVIRONMENT & WILDLIFE

Our local guides are passionate about the mountain environment and share their knowledge of the geology, wildlife and natural history of the Southern French Alps throughout the trip.

Climbing on the limestone cliffs also offers the chance to observe wildlife in its natural habitat. Golden eagles, vultures and other birds are regularly seen soaring above the crags, and our guides encourage respectful behaviour to minimise disturbance while helping guests better understand these fragile mountain ecosystems.

All accommodation providers and local partners commit to our sustainable tourism code of conduct, which includes measures such as reducing single-use plastics, encouraging reusable containers and adopting environmentally responsible practices wherever possible.

People

LOCAL ECONOMY

We employ qualified local climbing guides who live and work in the Southern French Alps and pay fair local rates for their expertise.

We choose independently owned, family-run accommodation and encourage guests to enjoy local restaurants and producers throughout their stay, ensuring that as much of the money spent on the vacation as possible remains within the local economy.

We operate in small groups, allowing for a more personalised experience while reducing pressure on the climbing areas.

Our guides adapt the climbing programme to the experience and objectives of each participant, whether they're taking their first steps outdoors or progressing towards more advanced climbing techniques.
