Travel guides
Our guide explores this country where, as the tourist board once claimed, 'the only risk is wanting to stay'.
Here's how to travel like a local, including a handy section on food, shopping & people.
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

CARBON REDUCTIONOur commitment to offering vacations with a positive impact is exemplified through our innovative approach and our groundbreaking carbon scoring system, a world-first initiative enabling us to meticulously evaluate the environmental footprint of each tailor-made trip. Transparency is paramount, and we extend it to our customers by individually assessing each trip, providing a personalised carbon score for your tailor-made vacation. This empowers you to make informed choices aligned with your values.
Our dedication to sustainability goes beyond scoring systems, influencing every aspect of your travel experience. During excursions in Peru enjoy locally sourced food from communities in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We can easily cater for vegetarians and vegans in both Peru and Colombia.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
This journey from the highlands of Peru to the gems of Colombia is designed to offer an unparalleled experience. Ahead of your departure, we ensure you are well-prepared through our pre-travel online 'travel pack.' This comprehensive, paper-free resource acts as your guide, providing essential details and valuable insights for the upcoming adventure. Practical guidelines on mindful packing are included to minimise luggage and reduce overall weight, contributing to lower fuel consumption. Our pack also offers information on acclimatisation and how to enhance your experience at high altitude.

LOCAL ECONOMYOur commitment is to offer travel experiences that our customers enjoy and actively contribute to the well-being of the regions they explore. In Cusco, our partners prioritise local guides. Beyond showcasing the destinations' beauty, these knowledgeable guides provide a window into Inca history, and speak the indigenous language, Quechua. The same concept prevails in Colombia with guides who reside in each destination such the locals who process the coffee at Finca del Cafe.
The trip has selected small, local hotels such as the Quinta San Blas and Andenia in Peru alongside charming, boutique options in Colombia. Sazagua in the Coffee Region has a focussed dedication to the local families who are the backbone of the industry in the area. Our partners in each country continually ensure the local people in our destinations will benefit from our business.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
Aside from working with local guides, our partners in Peru take pride in collaborating with the local communities of Huilloq, Camicancha, Socma, and Lamay in the Sacred Valley near Cusco. Most food products are sourced from these communities, integrating them into the supply chain whilst providing quality produce for clients.
Near Cartagena, Colombia our local partners work with a non-profit organisation, Pescador de Letras, which aims to provide quality education to children alongside proper nutrition. A tour to this project can be arranged and donations of school supplies can be made.
