1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

I think the nicest part was being in a community-oriented environment and feeling so warmly welcomed by the people living here. At the same time, the retreat itself was also an amazing experience.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

I came with my camper van, and I really loved that the retreat center offers this kind of option for a more affordable vacation and retreat experience.

My camper van is 7 meters long and around 3 meters high, and it was okay to get here. However, larger camper vans might face some challenges because of the narrow mountain roads leading to the retreat.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Definitely, the way this community lives is very respectful toward the environment and rooted in a sustainable approach to everyday life.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

I really enjoyed the beautiful balance between the excursions and outdoor activities, like paddleboarding and hiking to the waterfall, together with the workshops at the retreat, such as yoga and meditation. The food was also amazing, especially knowing that part of it came directly from their garden.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The farm's remote location in the Montenegro mountains was magical, a true work of love created by Pacha and Zoe. The spaces to stay, eat, exercise and relax were all unique but blended beautifully into the landscape and provided comfortable surroundings. Add to this an activity program filled with yoga, hiking, secret beaches, great food and some paddle boarding, and this was one of my most memorable vacations ever. A massage by Zoe was must.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Be prepared for healthy food, relaxing surroundings, no shops and a lovely family atmosphere. Don't forget your insect repellent!!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The farm produces much of its own food as well as supporting other local suppliers. The farm was built using local materials with environmental impact and conservation at the heart of Farm life.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

9/10 my second best vacation in all my 50+ years of vacationing abroad.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

Our commitment to environmental sustainability is deeply rooted in every aspect of our operations. We actively reduce our carbon footprint by using renewable energy sources, such as solar power, and building energy-efficient spaces. Our facilities are designed to minimize energy consumption, including a stone building with thick walls and eco-friendly heating systems. Organic farming practices are at the heart of our approach, avoiding harmful chemicals and preserving soil health. In addition to reducing waste through comprehensive recycling and composting programs, we prioritize the use of locally sourced ingredients, minimizing the carbon emissions associated with transportation. We also take pride in restoring local habitats by planting native species, creating wildlife corridors, and conserving water through sustainable landscaping techniques. Biodiversity conservation is a core focus, with efforts to protect local flora and fauna. Through education and awareness, we involve our guests in conservation efforts, encouraging them to participate in eco-friendly activities that benefit the planet.

People

Supporting local communities and empowering marginalized individuals is central to our mission. We actively source supplies and ingredients from local farmers and artisans, which not only reduces environmental impact but also stimulates the local economy. By promoting traditional arts, crafts, and practices, we ensure that cultural heritage is preserved and passed on to future generations. Our community involvement extends to supporting local projects focused on education, health, and infrastructure, with a particular focus on uplifting marginalized groups. We offer inclusive programs that are accessible to all, including scholarships and discounted rates for local residents. This ensures that even those with limited financial means can benefit from our services. Additionally, we conduct educational workshops and training sessions for local residents, especially children, to help them develop skills in sustainability, wellness, and hospitality. These initiatives empower individuals with the knowledge needed to improve their livelihoods while fostering a sense of community and belonging.
