This vacation keeps you in one place for the whole week. Rather than moving on each day, you settle into a private self-catering retreat on Skye and explore at your own pace. That means less time packing and unpacking and more time getting to know the island properly.

Your private guided day, half-day walk and RIB trip to Knoydart are all run by local people who know this part of Scotland well. Cooking for yourselves gives you the chance to shop in island stores and try nearby cafés and restaurants too.

We believe tourism should make a genuine difference to the communities it relies on. We choose our business partners carefully and check that they share our commitment to responsible travel. For us, that means helping to support a way of life in remote and rural parts of Scotland.

We’re corporate members of the John Muir Trust, an organisation committed to protecting the Scottish Highlands and islands. We’re also members of AITO, The Specialist Travel Association, and follow their strict code of conduct.

The internet is our main marketing channel. We produce limited printed materials for past customers and inquirers. Our preferred method is to supply vacation documents via an app. We make sure any leftover marketing materials are recycled.

People

We prefer to work with locally owned and managed businesses so you get a real feel for each place you visit. On this vacation, your private guide shapes your day on Skye around your interests and the weather. Your walking guide chooses the route and pace to suit you. Your RIB trip to Knoydart is run by people who know these waters well.

There are no set meals on this vacation, which leaves you free to eat where you like. A welcome hamper is waiting when you arrive. After that, we’ll give you our own recommendations for the best local cafés, shops and places to eat, along with lunch at Britain’s remotest mainland pub on your day in Knoydart.

We’re an employee-owned business with a small team based in central Glasgow, who travel to work by public transport, cycling or on foot. Each member of our staff makes at least two educational visits a year, so we can always recommend the best local restaurants and experiences. We stick to our promise that we won’t send you anywhere we haven’t been ourselves.
