Accommodations are locally owned guesthouses and B&Bs within walking distance of train stations and local trails, which encourages guests to move on foot and avoid taxis or hire cars. Several properties have implemented eco-friendly practices such as solar energy use, recycling, plastic reduction, and locally sourced food. Activities are planned to align with sustainability goals, including marine experiences led by biologists using low-impact observation methods and citizen-science hikes in protected parks. The entire itinerary embodies a “light-footprint” philosophy, connecting travelers with nature while limiting environmental disturbance.
