Traveling by boat along the Napo River reduces the need for additional road infrastructure in sensitive rainforest environments and concentrates activities within a defined area rather than dispersing impact across multiple sites.

Several activities are human-powered or low-impact in nature, including guided hikes in the Andes, forest walks in the Amazon and canoe excursions to Pañacocha Lake. Food experiences throughout the itinerary highlight regional ingredients, from Andean produce to Amazonian cuisine, supporting shorter supply chains and reducing reliance on imported goods.
