Spot orcas in the fjords by day and go chasing the aurora borealis at night.
As elusive as it is ethereal, this is one of nature's most stunning spectacles.

CARBON REDUCTIONA journey with fewer transfers
Our five-day Arctic itinerary is designed around two accommodation bases, Tromsø and Sommarøy. Guests spend two nights in each location rather than traveling between multiple destinations every day.
The journey does not require domestic flights. In Tromsø, many of the planned cultural and wellness experiences are accessible on foot.
For the journey between Tromsø and Sommarøy, we plan to use a pre-booked shared shuttle wherever suitable, rather than arranging separate vehicle journeys for each guest.
Exploring Arctic nature on foot
Walking is an important part of the journey. Guests are encouraged to explore Tromsø's waterfront on foot, while the suggested winter itinerary includes a guided snowshoe experience on Sommarøy.
These activities allow guests to enjoy the landscape without motorised recreational vehicles.
Accommodation with verified environmental measures
Our proposed Tromsø accommodation, Scandic Ishavshotel, holds Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification, covering requirements relating to energy, water, waste, cleaning products and other environmental practices.
At Sommarøy Arctic Hotel, daily room cleaning is provided on request rather than automatically. This helps reduce water consumption, energy use and cleaning chemicals.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
Responsible exploration of Arctic landscapes
Northern Norway's coastal ecosystems are sensitive to disturbance. Our guided nature experiences are selected with guest safety and environmental care in mind.
Guests will be advised to follow their guide's instructions, respect wildlife from a distance, avoid disturbing nesting and resting areas, and leave natural environments free of litter.
Working with qualified local nature guides
Our proposed guided winter snowshoe experience on Sommarøy is led by professional local instructors who adapt the activity to the weather and participants' abilities.
By working with knowledgeable guides, we aim to help guests develop a greater understanding of Arctic landscapes and the importance of protecting them.
Reducing the impact of our accommodation choices
We review the environmental practices of our accommodation providers when planning the journey.
Scandic Ishavshotel's Nordic Swan certification and Sommarøy Arctic Hotel's reduced housekeeping programme are two examples of the measures we consider when selecting partners.

LOCAL ECONOMYSupporting local experiences and services
Our Arctic journey is designed to direct visitor spending towards businesses operating in Northern Norway.
We plan to work with regional guides, activity providers, accommodation businesses and restaurants in Tromsø and Sommarøy.
The suggested itinerary includes locally guided nature experiences and opportunities to discover Northern Norwegian food traditions.
Spending more time in smaller communities
Rather than visiting Sommarøy on a short day trip from Tromsø, our guests stay for two nights.
This creates additional opportunities to support accommodation, restaurants and experiences in the island community, helping spread visitor spending beyond Tromsø's city center
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
Supporting local expertise
We prioritise knowledgeable, professionally operated local guides and experience providers who understand the Arctic environment, its weather conditions and local communities.
Our approach is to work with regional suppliers and confirm appropriate safety procedures and working conditions before including their services in our journeys.
Respect for local cultures
Northern Norway is home to Sámi communities with their own living cultures and traditions.
Where a journey includes Sámi cultural experiences, we aim to work directly with Sámi-led providers so that local hosts present their own culture and benefit from the experience.
Welcoming and personalised travel
We welcome guests of different backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ travelers.
Our tailor-made approach allows us to discuss individual interests, dietary requirements and accessibility needs before confirming an itinerary.
Some Arctic activities, including snowshoeing, dog sleeding require a certain level of mobility. We explain relevant limitations and explore suitable alternatives with our suppliers wherever possible.
