Vacation information

Our partners behind this vacation promote inclusivity on all their trips and across their business and we are all committed to ensuring travelers face no discrimination on any part of the trip they control.
Dietary requirements:
We can cater for vegetarian and vegan diets.

Accessible Tourism overview:
For us it is important to assist and help where we can with travelers that need special assistance. All our trips can be tailor made, allowing us to adjust the trips specifically to the individual. This is also dependant on the budget available.
Limited mobility:
We have already worked with several clients with limited mobility - we have organised for clients to travel via rental cars with private drivers for example. Before the trip we will contact the individual and find out what part of our trip needs to be adapted, this will also allow us to brief the local guides so they can focus on the particular needs of the traveler. Different day excursions can be provided when the activities do not suit the travelers' particular needs.
We have worked with several clients that have been wheelchair bound, this has previously involved sorting out suitable travel, such as private taxi transfers, drivers and guides. We can discuss with the traveler beforehand exactly how the trip needs to be adapted. Extra activities can be provided instead if a suggested one isn't suitable for example. Travelers with a wheelchair will need to be accompanied on the trip.
Blind or Limited vision:
Information in braille is not available in Latin American destinations which means all the information will be delivered verbally. We can provide a host to take care of the travelers depending of budget. We have already guided a person with limited vision, so we know how to deal with the challenges. Local guides are trained and can be briefed on the specific needs of each traveler. Programmes can also be adapted for ease of travel. Travelers with severe vision impairments should be accompanied.
Deaf or limited hearing:
All information before the trip starts will be provided in a written format. Lip reading will be essential for understanding the local guides explanations. The traveler will also have to be accompanied by someone who will be able to sign the translations. A special host can be provided, but this can in dependent on budget. While not all our guides are trained in sign language, they have access to computer tablets for communication if necessary. We have guided a deaf person before, so we know the challenges involved.
'Free from' food:
Diet requests are communicated to all local operators involved that are included in the program and it should not be a problem to accommodate most.
We have not encountered any issues directed towards the LGBT community on our trips and believe that the countries that we travel in are welcoming and open to all travelers.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

All nature excursions and trekking are guided by local guides with ecological and/or cultural knowledge and are organized by local organizations, which are taking care of the cultural heritage and the environment with ecological awareness. This means that the organizations take care of the wildlife, the surface water, nature in general and the disposal of waste.

The companies that take care of the transport are locally owned and result in a direct income for the Argentinean people. The accommodations are chosen for Argentinean ambiance, style & location and directly create employment for the Argentinean people. The Hotel Das Cataratas, where 2 nights are spend, is spectacular situated inside the Brazilian National Park near the falls of Iguazu, and received in the year 2000 as the first Ecological Resort in Latin America their certification. Their four main activities consist of separated waste collection, conserving the natural water supplies & other resources, saving electricity and training of the team in ecological awareness.

On your travel in NW Argentina you will stay overnight in several indigenous communities, and your stay directly contributes to the economic development of the indigenous small villages in the Andes. The Argentinean people are aware that it is important to take care of their beautiful nature, as this is one of the main attractions for tourists coming to the Northwest, and tourism is becoming gradually more important in this area and provides income for the people on different levels. By staying overnight in some small hotels, eating in local restaurants, buying handicrafts, shop on markets and using services of local guides, as mentioned in the program. Local guides will also be a welcome source to give you all information about nature, culture and customs that you would like to know. When you visit National Parks your entrance fee contributes directly to the conservation of this park and/or archaeological site, and maintains employment for local communities as well.

Quite new is that local operators have started offering short treks with lamas, as in pre-Colombian times the indigenous people used to trek over large distances through the Andes. Participating in these treks support these initiatives in which local indigenous people regain their knowledge and cultural awareness, which was gradually wiped out during the Spanish conquest. The individual & travels are designed and offered by ecological guides who live in Latin America, and have been guiding in the Andes for many years. They offer the possibility to travel by horse or on foot through this part of NW Argentina, as they know just how unique & authentic this area and the lifestyle of the gauchos still is.

This operator empowers a womens coffee cooperation and NGO in the Andes of Venezuela. Their vision is to provide solidarity to the entire coffee community in the area, striving to improve the quality of the life of children and families of the coffee communities. With this vacation and all our tailor made travels in Latin America you support local families on your destination of travel and you make it for us possible to support mothers and children in the Andes of Venezuela through this cooperation and NGO. Through their different programs the cooperative aspire to offer training technique in administration, management, accounting, among others and offer scholarships to students and subsidies to primary schools in rural coffee communities, as well as inspire to new forms of community economic organization.
