The food experiences on this tour are all local, meaning we can ensure that we produce as little food waste as possible. In Vinales, the group eat at an eco-farm, all food is locally grown locally and organically. This trip has a maximum group size of 12, and we never exceed this. Traveling in small groups means we have a lower environmental impact on the locations visited, using fewer resource and leaving less waste behind. We are able to use smaller buses, rather than the coaches used by larger touring groups. This trip has a large water keg on the bus, from which our travelers can fill their reusable water bottles and our tour leaders are proactive in encourage our travelers to product as little waste as possible while on the tour. This tour includes our highest rated tour leaders, who not only have incredible knowledge of local culture and history but also the local fauna and flora, acting as advocates for our style of travel and the natural environment.Since 2018 we have been certified as a B Corp. Certified B Corporations are leaders in the global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. This trip support the local community and ensures money stays with the people that live there by using a local leader throughout, as well as many local guides. We include an informal Spanish less to aid cross-cultural communication and encourage our travelers to immerse themselves in the culture and make connections with local people. A local guide will provide a tour around the orchid gardens of Soroa, sharing knowledge on the array of plant and bird species from this diverse area. The tour leader will take the group around the verdant farmlands of Vinales, where they will talk to you about the geography that makes up the area’s spectacular scenery. Vinales is known for its tobacco farms which still use traditional growing methods, preserving the natural environment that exist here. The group will experience a salsa lesson given by local dancers; music and dance are a huge part of Cuban culture. This trip also supports local eateries throughout. Here you’ll enjoy an exceptional farm-to-table meal made entirely from organic produce grown on site – this is truly one of the freshest dining experiences in Cuba. In Trinidad the group take a trip out of town to a local house for a homely and festive dinner, learning about the local dishes and experiences of the people that live here, this also includes a performance by local musicians. We stay in locally owned guesthouses throughout, rather than large corporate hotels. These guesthouses are often family-run, supporting this small-scale tourism industry and allowing our travelers to interact with local people.
