CARBON REDUCTION

For the Galapagos Islands, a flight is necessary, marking the only exception to our otherwise eco-conscious travel methods. Once on the island, we promote sustainability by sharing transportation among all group members, both for organized activities and during participants' free time. Taxis are utilized, contributing to a collective effort to minimize our carbon footprint and foster environmentally responsible travel practices.

To access the projects, we rely on eco-friendly public transportation on the mainland.

Beyond our projects, we extend our environmental consciousness to our offices, embracing the ethos of a 'Green Office.' This collective effort aims to reduce paper and energy consumption while minimizing waste generation, exemplifying our commitment to sustainability as a business.

On San Cristobal Island, our partnership with a pioneering local initiative underscores our dedication to developing long-term programs. These initiatives focus on eradicating invasive species and promoting sustainable agriculture. Drawing from their extensive history on the islands, our partners possess profound knowledge about the ecosystem, providing eager volunteers with a wealth of information.

Volunteers actively contribute to conservation endeavors that extend across various facets, embodying a commitment to the preservation of the Galapagos archipelago's unparalleled biodiversity. The program encompasses habitat restoration initiatives, where volunteers work hands-on to rejuvenate ecosystems impacted by human activities. Participants play a vital role in restoring natural habitats, ensuring they remain conducive to the diverse species that call the Galapagos home. This can involve activities such as planting native flora, maintaining trails, and supporting ecosystem resilience.

LOCAL ECONOMY

Our commitment to community involvement is exemplified in the tangible benefits our programs bring to local residents. We prioritize job creation by employing local guides, and host families, actively fostering their growth within the tourism industry. Instead of directing revenue to large multinational tourism corporations, we reinvest in community-oriented projects like family-run hostels.

A portion of the cost of each of these programs will go directly to developing and sustaining local communities. Furthermore, through our programs, you have a chance to meet these communities, learn how they live, and subsequently better understand the problems they face. In order to develop the daily activities its necessary to work with tools, and special clothes provided in the farm, part of your fee is also addressed to this expense.

This program directly involves and benefits local community members, generating jobs by hiring local guides, host families, or projects and offer assistance with their progress in the tourism industry. This project is designed to allow you to learn about the work carried out by the families of the archipelago to maintain the ecosystem while also having a source of income through visits from foreign tourists.

During the volunteer program participants consume local products cultivated on the farm, which reduces transportation costs and generates income for local farms and markets.

Before program commencement, our highly informative sessions delve into the specific needs and challenges of local areas, ensuring participants are well-prepared and aware of the positive impact they can achieve during their travels. Choose responsible travel that enriches both your journey and the communities you encounter. We share with participants about our involvement to create experiences that contribute to the agenda.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY

Presently, the Quito office boasts an entirely Ecuadorian female staff.

Our volunteer projects warmly welcome individuals of diverse backgrounds, embracing inclusivity for everyone, including children accompanied by their parents, couples, individuals, LGBTQ individuals, and seniors alike.

Currently, 97% of our employees and partners are Ecuadorians.
