Three days Wadi Rum camel safari with guide, cook and very basic camping as you go. This was a truly spiritual experience, the night sky, the silence, the unflappability of the camels truly amazing and so authentic. Read full review

The whole vacation from beginning to the end was fantastic. We visited Petra and Petra by night, Jerash, Karak, the Jordan River... the Dead Sea, Amman and we also spent 3 days on a camel safari in the desert, living as Bedouins. It was a vacation with a difference and one we will not forget. Read full review

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

During your camel safari you will enjoy camping in the great outdoors in Wadi Rum protected area. Of course tents will be provided. Every morning before you hop back on your camel, you will clean the campsite together with your local Bedouin guide and chef. It is really important that there is no waste left behind.

Wadi Rum protected area cover 720km of desert in the South of Jordan. There is a lot of small wildlife in Wadi Rum such as birds, insects and reptiles. Larger species such as the Arabian Oryx can be found as well. Only their numbers are small. It is for that reason that the protected area exists now. In your entry ticket conservation fees are included. So we recommend you to visit this stunning desert so more money will be available. A big conservation program is on the way but in order to succeed more visitors are needed.

Our local Bedouin guide will ask you to follow the rules and regulations at all times. So more people can enjoy its beauty and help conserve the famous desert called Wadi Rum.

People

During your vacation you will be accompanied by the local people of Jordan. While touring the country your local English speaking driver will make sure all goes well.

And during your camel safari you will be guided by local English speaking Bedouins. Another local Bedouin will come along who will take care of your luggage and he will be preparing all your meals fresh.

We work with the people who live in Rum Village, the only village located inside the protected area of Wadi Rum. You will be meeting some real local Bedouins on your desert experience. The desert is their home, they surely are the best guides you can have.

All these local people who help your vacation dreams come true, will be given fair wages for their hard work.

We recommend our guests to eat at locally owned restaurants and buy souvenirs from local artists to further support the local communities in Jordan. In Petra you will find a souvenir shop called "Handmade in Jordan". They ensure that all souvenirs they sell are created by local artists and that they are all compensated fairly for their hard work.
