As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetThis itinerary focusses on ensuring you have the perfect blend of intimate properties and amazing experiences whilst being able to safely explore one of Africa's most exciting driving routes. Our team on the ground will be with every step of the way to ensure you are comfortable and can enjoy yourselves hassle free.
With an abundant array of properties in the region we have focussed on selecting those that are most in line with our principles. The properties hire local staff and have the very best guides whilst being dedicated to sustainability and responsible tourism.
The properties chosen hire local staff and have the very best guides whilst being dedicated to sustainability and responsible tourism. Amkhala Game Reserve, for example has approximately 20 members involved in the running of the Land & Game Department. These members range from a General Manager with a B. Tech in Nature Conservation, an Ecologist with a B.Sc degree in Zoology and Field Rangers who are involved in foot patrols for maintenance and security purposes.
The reserve is specifically involved in rhino and cheetah conservation, the provision of a safe environment for all animals, whether endangered or not, to live and breed is how they shape their contribution to wildlife conservation.
PeopleWhilst we are always trying to ensure our guests experience the best properties and destinations possible, our ethos about responsible travel is extremely important to us.
We have selected the properties on this itinerary with sustainable and responsible tourism in mind. In Cape Town you will enjoy the region's food and wine whilst supporting local suppliers and traders. The hotels also make a huge effort to train and employ local staff. In the Eastern Cape Game Reserves we work with selected camps and lodges who make a concerted effort to recruit their staff from within the local community, providing jobs and sharing the benefits of tourism.
As a company we are founded in the roots of providing responsible and sustainable vacations. This means we seek to partner with local suppliers who provide fair wages, to use accommodation where community and environment are considered and.. in short.. to look at every opportunity for making our vacations as fair to local people and places as possible.
