Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
1. Our back-office operations are 100% paper free.2. All guests get locally manufactured high-quality stainless-steel bottles on the tour. All accommodations will have filters for safe drinking water.
3. All homestays partially operate on solar power for indoor lighting.
4. We use all biodegradable waste for composting and there is a government-run program to collect plastic waste (if any) from the villages for recycling.
5. Our birding and wildlife experts are not only good at the subject but also ensure that we leave no impact on the trail. They can provide friendly advice on the dos and don’ts on the trail.
6. All the vegetables we use for cooking are sourced from our own or neighbouring farms for minimal impact due to long-distance transportation.
7. Our vehicles comply with the recent emission standards applicable in India.
8. At most places, your accommodations will be built with sustainable natural materials such as stone and mud. This helps in better temperature regulation, lowers the need for heaters, and preserves traditional architecture.
People
1. For all your activities, we have trained members from local villages. This not only gives direct income to the village but also stops migration which is a big problem in this region.2. You will notice extensive involvement of village women in planning, managing, conducting your activities, and managing accommodations. This is in line with the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals. This also encourages interaction with the community for an enriching vacation.
3. Storytelling is an important element in all our tours. Be it about the communities, villages, or the way they interact with the forest and wildlife. Telling stories is important to keep the culture alive and develop meaningful connections with the place you visit.
