Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

This tour will transport you to an eclectic and culturally significant range of heritage sites that date back to ancient times and it will also take you to unique places of natural beauty, including Beijing Forbidden city, Dengfeng Shaolin Temple, Luoyang Longmen Grottoes, Xi’an Qin Terra-cotta Army, Mount Wudang, Wuhan, Shanghai....

In our products, we try to provide more opportunities for tourists to go inside local communities and try to explain both tourists and local communities their different behaviors, thinking and altitudes from both sides and especially explain the cultural reasons behind. The more the both sides, tourists and local communities understand each other, the more they respect the each other and their culture.

Water bottles:
Water is a really important issue on along trekkiing trip and whilst we must stay hydrated. We have a system for providing clean water without causing lots of waste with plastic bottles. We encourage our passengers to refill a water bottle from water 'bubblers' where available to avoid unnecessary purchasing of bottled water and the subsequent waste disposal issues. We hope to leading a mostly plastic-free life in every groups that we organized.

Flora and fauna:
Our local guides will have a set of guidelines for each tour. The flora and fauna (flowers and animals) are in abundance and wide variety in remote villages along this tour. And the weak ecological environments are complex and multiplicity, and they are damageable. we advocate ecological tourism. Footpaths crisscrossed the fields, where the crowing of cocks and the barking of dogs were heard within distance, of course we stick to footpaths. The growing number of visitors is damaging the footpaths. It is necessary to mention this on tour briefing to our clients.

Transport :
We try to seldom use vehicle except necessary on the tour. We actively encourage all customers to take public transport, or rent a bike, or just walk around in free time. So we could ensure that our transport is as low carbon as possible.

Waster:
For arranging and operating the tours, we try our best to reduce the waste and recycle the resources. All our booking documents, paper accounting documents and paper itineraries are printed on the back of the used paper. And we staple the used paper as notebooks for employees’ daily use. Our tourist bus drivers recycle the mineral water bottles left by tourists on buses. There are plastic bags on tourist buses and with our tour guides to collect the garbage produced by tourists along the trip. As we all know every tour produces a surplus of waste and hard-to-use biomass that is best kept in the food chain by feeding it to livestock. We encourage clients to stick to bring all waste to next stop and disposed of appropriately in local garbage collection facilities. These include recycling as appropriate.

Office:
It is advocated to recycle paper and ink cartridges to reduce the waste in landfill sites. We turn off printers, computers, battery chargers and transformers at the end of each day and use energy-efficient bulbs and low-energy appliances.

People

Our itinerary has been designed to fully incorporate the local communities of the regions we visit. We value their unique insights, knowledge, and hospitality, and believe that they too should benefit from tourism too. We respect their traditions and beliefs, and are acutely aware of the need to respect indigenous people and religious sites in particular.

Accommodation and Meals:
We engage locally-owned and operated services(hotel for instance) thereby supporting local people and communities as well as minimizing use of long and carbon-intensive supply chains. The accommodations we select where feasible we stay in locally owned and simpler styles of hostel. We endeavor to include and strongly encourage our travelers to eat locally produced food and goods. This reduces energy resources consumed through production and transport of the food and goods purchased by our travelers. And we encourage clients to reuse their own towels, bed sheets for the whole staying.
Our clients are also encouraged turning off lights, and not to turn their room air-conditions under 26 degrees. Some of hostel we choose in small village are restored using local materials in order to preserve the cultural heritage of the area.

Local crafts and culture –
We encourage travelers to purchase craft items direct from the artisans. Guides include visits to workshops (sculpture, textile, painting) according to the interests of the group.

Local services:
We engage locally-owned and operated services thereby supporting local people and communities as well as minimizing use of long and carbon-intensive supply chains. For example, we use all local guides and drivers so that we learn about the culture and way of life directly from those who live it and put money into local hands and economies. All receive fair wages and are provided with training opportunities both direct from us and from the local tourism bureau. Our guides are also responsible for advising travelers of the appropriate recycling options available in each place.

Traveling with respect -
We realize the mutual understanding is the first step to maintain harmony. There is no good culture and bad culture but just different culture exist in our world.
