Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
During our tours, we keep an environmental policy to make sure that the environments we visit are not damaged or spoilt in any way. All of our clients are fully briefed on a code of etiquette before the tour and also throughout the duration, with the guiding hand of our guide. Our guides are also trained to uphold this policy. An example of this is our behavior towards waste and ensuring our travelers adopt our green practices such as avoiding bringing materials such as plastic that cause the greater environmental impact. We try to minimise waste as much as possible and are careful to emphasize that clients should not damage or remove pieces from any historical sites they visit.By keeping the small group size we ensure that we have a low impact on the environments and communities we visit and are able to ensure that we do not disrupt or lead to the displacement of local people. The small number also allows us to stay in unique, family-run hotels that cannot benefit from coach tours and other mass tourism due to their limited sizes.
We are always trying to analyze and develop our responsible business policy and behaviors, through client and tour feedback and in response to changing socio-political conditions and current affairs.
People
We always help clients to discover different areas of Armenia by recommending other travel routes, hotels and guests houses that are traditional. We encourage them to explore our local areas and sample the wonderful variety of shops, restaurants etc which are locally owned and which provide traditional Armenian products. These activities are vital to the local peoples’ ability to truly benefit from tourism. Our style of trip, traveling and eating with the locals, puts you right at the heart of Armenian culture. Our company aims to maximise the positive benefits of tourism for host communities. This includes training and employment of local staff, using local suppliers and assisting in the development of sustainable local businesses. Many of our friends and colleagues are also involved in projects such as volunteer work on farms, environmental projects etc.
In general, we’re trying through our activities to encourage travelers to approach places they visit with greater understanding and respect.
