Planet

The Tubkaak Resort has a permaculture organic garden supplying the restaurants and food-waste is used as fertiliser to improve soil health. Water is reused and the treated resort water is used for landscaping/irrigation. Solar lighting is used on walkways to lower electricity demand. It is built with eco-conscious design, preserving mature trees and natural mountain water flow; uses ingredients from its own organic garden.

Our Jungle Resort is built using regrowing natural materials (open vernacular design) to avoid heavy A/C and pump loads. There is an on-site organic farm and food forest, recycling & composting hub. Forest protection/reforestation: ~80 rai protected rainforest; 40 rai replanted with indigenous trees; experimental reforestation of a rubber orchard.

Banyan Tree Bangkok has an annual target of 5% reduction (vs prior year) in energy, emissions, water, and waste.

Khao Sok activities has a strict no riding policy for elephants, supporting sustainable sanctuaries for retired and rescued elephants from logging/entertainment industries.

Our guides in country encourage single-use plastics reduction. We encourage travelers to carry refillable bottles and support them with refill access on programme. Internally we replace plastic-wrapped wet tissues with biodegradable, bamboo-based alternatives and continue to scale reductions destination-wide.

Thailand teams participate in our company-wide Responsible Travel Committee, which designs and implements destination-level initiatives to minimise environmental impact while growing positive outcomes for host communities.
