Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
WildlifeTo respect our environment we inform our tourists how to behave while walking in the countryside. We encourage them to avoid littering, tearing or damaging flowers, as well as to respect wildlife habitats and so on.
We also respect the environment by our working policy. In our offices, we operate mainly with computers. We use emails rather than fax and do not print documents but store them on our computers and in online clouds. All of our invoices, travel information and travel documents to our clients are issued as PDF - not printed on paper.
Waste
We reduce waste and pollution by asking our tourists to minimize the use of plastic bags, plates, bottles etc.
There is a public recycling center in Georgia, which helps the country to implement modern principles of waste management that include saving resources and getting the economic effect by separating and subsequent recycling of waste. Separation corners offer an opportunity for people to take their sorted waste: glass, aluminum, plastic, paper and dispose it into the proper bin. So, we always encourage our tourists to throw their waste in the right place thereby help the country.
Energy
We encourage our tourists to conserve energy and maintain the use of air conditioners, lights and other electrical equipment to a minimum.
People
Friends & neighborsWe ensure that local economies benefit from our business by using locally-owned accommodation, employing local people as specialist guides, working with local operators and suppliers. In doing so, we are not only investing in local communities but also offering our travelers a genuine insight into a country and its people.
We also encourage our tourists to visit local markets, buy souvenirs, local products from local stores and visit local restaurants. That helps to invest money into the local economy and gives the client a taste of the local cuisine.
Local crafts and culture
During the tour "Highlights of Georgia", the tourists will visit the local winery Khareba. There they will have an opportunity to learn ancient traditions of Georgian winemaking and try various kinds of locals wines. Those who wish will be able to purchase the wines they liked the most. Thereby we are investing in the development of local enterprises. This, in turn, leads to their sustainability.
During the tour, the travelers will also have interesting master classes on traditional food preparation. During masterclasses, the tourists not only learn the recipes of national food preparation but also get acquainted with its history. By that, we try to promote local culture and customs.
Traveling with respect
We always inform our tourists about local customs and traditions, communication issues and rules of conduct in the churches. Thus, we minimize the risk of misunderstanding with locals and disrespectful behavior in religious places.
We also try to make a good relationship between tourist and locals by organizing lunches or dinners at local’s home. This gives a chance to both tourists and local people to meet each other's cultural differences and have a cultural exchange.
