Where private transfers are needed, we prioritise modern, low-emission vehicles. By encouraging walking tours in Tokyo and Ginzan Onsen, as well as ski-in/ski-out access at the resort, we minimise the need for additional local transport. Accommodation partners are selected for their sustainable practices, such as energy-efficient heating systems suited to winter conditions and waste reduction initiatives.

Yamagata and Appi Kogan are the ski resorts we recommend that don't use the snow cannons. Yamagata has "snow monsters" which look really impressive and are caused by the moist winds that hit the mountains and the trees, between which skiers and snowboarders get to run down.
Where possible, excursions highlight Japan’s natural heritage — from volcanic hot springs to snow-covered forests — without disturbing local wildlife, such as serow, foxes, and migratory birds that winter in these regions.
