Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
This trek is becoming more and more popular due to its safety and low altitude area with stunning views. High chances to spot wild animals and birds so take care of your belongings and don't leave any traces behind. Firstly, because some animals can swallow it or get stuck, secondly, leave this place as you would like to see it yourself. As this is a trekking vacation, the main form of traveling is by walking, this reduces the CO2 emissions.
Vegetarian and vegan meals are not a problem at all and highly encouraged to reduce CO2 emissions.
Don't bring any plastic to this zone as there is no trashman service in the mountains and all the responsibility lies on locals and tourists. Bring your BPA free water bottle to refill it instead of buying mineral water in plastic.
Occasionally, we'll have showers in some teahouses. Remember, that tap water is very precious when you take a shower or brush your teeth.
Solar energy is the only way to have electricity in the mountains. Bringing your own portable solar panel is a great option to charge your gadgets safely.
Our suppliers match our environmental values: gas and electric stoves for cooking, solar energy, locally-grown food, earthquake-resistant buildings.
People
A short day trek in the lowland of the Everest region is one of the popular treks nowadays as from there we can get stunning views of mountains, sunrise, and sunset. This trek is also a great chance to observe the old monasteries and the culture and tradition of Sherpa People. Locals here are conservative so we ask you to respect customs and traditions, dress modestly, greet all people you meet on the way, have small talks, learn a bit of Nepali with our guides, teach your own language. We employ only local guides who know the area the best. Our responsibility to provide them with good wage: salary, insurance, equipment, meals and accommodation, clothes.
We'll be staying in locally-owned teahouses and experience the real life of locals. There are no western restaurants on your way, so any place we choose to eat will bring income for locals only. All food is locally-grown by farmers so give it a try by ordering Nepali and Sherpa cuisines.
