The tour operator was a fantastic way to experience different areas of Mexico. Our rep Ethan was absolutely fantastic, extremely laidback while remaining fully attentive. The local guides were knowledgable and helpful and our smiling driver was a joy. I can't think of a better way to have travelled and experienced the country.
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetProtecting and preserving the beautiful destinations and natural beauty we visit is one of our highest priorities. As well as promoting and practicing sustainable travel, we conduct regular eco-audits on all our trips and suppliers to ensure weíre consistently minimising our impact on the natural environment.
We advise all our travelers to bring a reusable water bottle when they travel, but for those that donít we also sell refillable bottles on all our trips.
We've partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to help protect, preserve and rebuild the natural world. We plant 10 trees for every booking made with us.
By hiring local villagers to plant trees in Nepal, Haiti, Indonesia & more, Eden Reforestation Projects are helping replant forests, restore animal habitats and reduce poverty and we are are proud to support them with your help.
We travel in a low carbon overland vehicle across Mexico, and only stay in accommodation that has been vetted and adheres to our strict environmental standards. We undertake regular eco-audits of all suppliers to ensure they meet those same standards of waste reduction and environmental sustainability.
PeopleMaking a positive difference to the amazing destinations we travel is at the core of what we do. Small Change is our own socially conscious initiative aimed at making the world that little bit better place to explore! We understand that travel is a privilege, so we seek to create a positive impact in every destination we visit.
As opposed to being a cultural observer, our trips are designed to help you understand and respect local cultures, traditions and ways of life. Through sharing knowledge and understanding, we ensure that your travels are mutually beneficial for both you, and those you are visiting.
We have a unique experience visiting the Indigenous communities of
San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, witnessing the unique fusion of ancient Mayan traditions and contemporary religions giving us an insight into their history and culture.
Our guides, transport providers and local team are provided with extensive training, support and benefits that go beyond just fair remuneration.
All groups are given extensive cultural tips and education along the way so they are sensitive too and can have meaningful and beneficial exchanges with the local community at all our stops.
