Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Protecting and preserving the beautiful destinations and natural beauty we visit is one of our highest priorities. As well as promoting and practicing sustainable travel, we conduct regular eco-audits on all our trips and suppliers to ensure we’re consistently minimising our impact on the natural environment. We've partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to help protect, preserve and rebuild the natural world. From February 1st 2020 we'll be planting 10 trees for every booking made! By hiring local villagers to plant trees in Nepal, Haiti, Indonesia & more, Eden Reforestation Projects are helping replant forests, restore animal habitats and reduce poverty and we are proud to support them with your help.
To help reduce single use plastics and promote reusable alternatives, we’ve installed refillable water stations at nearly all of our overnight stops, and at many of our activity locations. We advise all our travelers to bring a reusable water bottle when they travel, but for those that don’t we also sell our branded bottles on all our trips.
The natural wildlife of South Africa is some of the best in the world and preserving it for future generations is a key part of mission and reason for touring South Africa. We only use local operators that directly support the ongoing preservation of wildlife areas and take action against poaching and intrusive, damaging tourism activities.

Through our Small Change socially conscious initiative established in 2017 we ensure that every trip we run has a direct and positive impact on the local communities we visit. This means that your money is being used to support the local economy, and going direct to those who need it most. Every one of our trips includes a variety of #smallchanges that you’ll get to experience first hand.We visit and support the local Zulu community through the Wildlife Spirit Community Camp in the Pongolapoort Nature Reserve. The Reserve was first proclaimed in 1894 and is the second oldest reserve in the world and the oldest in South Africa. It is home to an impressive collection of wildlife and vegetation. In addition to the two breeding herds of African elephants, there are also hyenas, buffalos, rhinos, leopards, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes and impalas.
The community project was started a few years ago to provide an environmental education facility and to generate local economic activity. The land is owned by the local Myeni clan. Community projects such as making paper from elephant dung are run from the facility, along with a variety of educational activities.
