On this low impact walking vacation, accommodation was chosen for their location from the Offa’s Dyke Path to avoid the need for excessive transfers to and from the trail. This ensures the carbon footprint of all guests have a low carbon footprint and minimal impact on the environment.

In addition to this, we also keep our group sizes small so that the walking vacation has a low impact on the environment and its wildlife. On this walking tour, we teach our guests all about native wildlife and wild plants that live and grow in the rural landscape along the Offa’s Dyke Path.

Guests are provided with reusable water bottles at the beginning of their journey to use throughout their trip. This is to ensure we eliminate the use guests may have for single-use plastic bottles. Instead, guests can refill their water bottle each day ahead of their walk. We hope that guests will choose to continue using the reusable bottle even after their trip in place of buying plastic bottles.

People

One of the best ways we can support local communities we visit is to work solely with local independent partners, who share the passion of supporting the community they are based. Trying to find employment in rural areas can be a challenge, and can lead to younger generations feeling as though they have to move from their local community to find employment.

Making sure small communities remain balanced is a big factor when we plan any adventure. Large groups of tourists descending in one place can put unsustainable pressure on resources and infrastructure. This is one of the main reasons we only run small group tours. It also means our guests enjoy a more authentic experience too.

We encourage our guests to visit local pubs and village shops for any supplies they may need for their journeys. Rural businesses such as these rely on regular trade, so it’s really important to buy local when possible.
