Additionally, take a 2.5-hour walk through picturesque valleys and woodlands to reach the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church.

Experience the authentic local way of life by hopping on a public bus from Sheki to Kish. Not only does this reduce our carbon footprint, but it also offers a genuine glimpse into the daily lives of the locals.

Our business has a seven-point commitment plan that supports our Climate Emergency declaration. We are the first global tour operator with verifiable science-based targets through the Science Based Targets initiative. This trip is carbon labelled to give our travelers visibility over the impact of their chosen vacation.

LOCAL ECONOMY

Supporting the local economy is at the core of our trips, ensuring that our travels benefit the communities we visit.

Traditional Craftsmanship and businesses are supported throughout on this trip. Whether by wandering through the cobbled streets of Lahij, a village that showcases the rich traditions of the Tats people. Here, you will engage with local artisans in copper workshops and even partake in a yogurt master class. Similarly, in Nij, immerse yourself in the unique culture of the Udi community, exploring local bazaars and significant historical sites. From the organized chaos of the farmers markets in Telavi to the bustling Nizami Street in Baku lined with local eateries, every experience is a step closer to understanding and supporting the local way of life, and the people that reside there.

Locally owned accommodation is a central part of our trips, and we go out of our way to work with local suppliers in remote regions. In Lahij we stay in a small locally-owned guesthouse, and we use a family-run hotel in Telavi.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY

Since 2018 we have been a certified B Corporation. B Corps that look after their staff, work toward a more inclusive supply chain, and take corporate social responsibility to the next level. For us, becoming a B Corp meant taking all the work we’ve already done – through our Foundation and our core operation – to the next level and conducting an extensive audit to ensure we meet the highest responsible business standards.

Supporting remote and marginalised communities is something we prioritise, in this trip we visit Nij village, a settlement of the Udi people who are the direct descendants of ancient Caucasian Albanians. Most the world’s surviving Udi people call Nij home, giving the community a unique culture.
