We encourage travelers to plan a longer trip farther away and stay longer in one place instead of taking multiple short trips each year. An example is Cristalino Lodge focusing on using organic fruits and vegetables, whenever they’re available and focusing on using local ingredients, such as Brazil-nuts, açaí, cocoa, cupuaçu, honey from wild bees, peachpalm and fish from sustainable fishing.
The lodge also composts 100% of organic waste.

Cristalino Lodge conserves a reserve covering 11,399 hectares of primary forest, which removes thousands of tons of carbon from the atmosphere.
