CARBON REDUCTION

The itineraries we create are guided by three core pillars: protecting the environment, supporting local communities and enabling our guests to travel responsibly. To achieve this, we partner with a boutique team on the ground that has championed responsible tourism since 1994 and shares our values.

We choose low-impact activities such as walking tours and hikes to minimise carbon footprint and we encourage small group led tours to reduce the number of vehicles, lowering emissions and visitor pressure on sensitive sites.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

Visits to Bernardo O’Higgins National Park, Torres del Paine, and Cueva del Milodón include park entry fees, which directly fund conservation of landscapes and wildlife.

Through experiences, our guides educate guests about the fragile ecosystems they visit, like the Atacama Salt Flat and Torres del Paine National Park. This raises environmental awareness and shares responsible visitor tips, so that guests understand the local challenges and how to minimise impact when traveling.

The accommodation we have included in this itinerary also demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability. For example:

-Ayca La Flora is a family-owned boutique hotel, operating with sustainability at its core and in alignment with the principles of responsible tourism and the criteria of SERNATUR’s Sustainable Tourism Certification.
-Weskar Lodge is accredited by the Official Sustainability Certificate of Chile (S) with a focus on environmental protection and organic waste reuse.
-Hotel Lago Grey, prioritises conserving the natural environment, offers eco-friendly activities, and uses locally sourced ingredients.
-Casa Don Tomas is largely solar powered and constructed using traditional adobe, avoids single use plastics, and provides eco-friendly toiletries.

LOCAL ECONOMY

All the experiences are also carefully curated to provide authentic engagement. For example, while exploring the Atacama Desert, this itinerary goes beyond natural landscapes to include visits to traditional community-based settlements, giving you the chance to learn about the deep roots and modern realities of San Pedro’s people. In the Casablanca Valley, guests visit a family-owned winery rather than large-scale operations. Properties like Weskar Lodge, La Casa de Don Tomas, Ayca La Flora Hotel are small, locally owned accommodations to ensure we support regional employment and avoid mass tourism.

People are at the heart of everything we do. Our local partners train guides annually on safety protocols, service, destinations, and responsible travel, ensuring they are equipped to make a positive impact.

Each transfer and excursion include local guides, ensuring employment for residents and authentic storytelling rooted in Chilean culture. Santiago, Valparaiso and San Pedro are explored on foot, engaging with local life, artisans and local traditions.
