CARBON REDUCTION

Efforts have been made to create a trip that does not include domestic flying, instead using local transport between the destinations. An international flight to/from the country is necessary due to its location.

Onwards, we reduce carbon in this trip by using local transport like buses in between the locations, and environmentally friendly transport like electric ferry and train during activities.

This trip includes only a few destinations to avoid unnecessary transportation and maximise benefits at the location.

Breakfast buffets always have vegetarian and vegan options available and clearly marked. Restaurants always offer vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

This trip respects the environment and wildlife by traveling gently and watching the wildlife from a distance, and learn about the natural surroundings, which makes the location so special.

Each year, we donate a percentage of the company's surplus to charity organisations that either help people or the environment. Last year, we donated to an NGO organisation that works on cleaning up the coastlines of plastic.

People

LOCAL ECONOMY

The accommodation in Narvik and Senja are smal-scale, locally owned. They reflect the area and give back to the community. The hotel in Tromsø is a chain-owned hotel, but it is a Scandinavian chain with a high focus on sustainability, known for its family-friendly atmosphere.

To maximise local economic opportunities, we select destinations that do not receive the highest amount of travelers, but have a local feel and are equally beautiful. Narvik and Senja are good examples. This contributes to benefit small communities so they can continue to exist. Within the destination, we also seek to use local small-scale operators to benefit the local economy and avoid the larger ones.

Where possible, we use local guides and residents to make sure travelers benefit from their special knowledge and, importantly, contribute to providing jobs in areas where there are not many.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY

Norway is a very liberal country with equal rights to race, gender, sexual orientation or nationality, and LGBT+ travelers are welcome everywhere.
