CARBON REDUCTION

All transportation throughout the itinerary is made by trains, driven by electricy which is to a large extent green and train make for a very environmental friendly and sustainable way of travel.

Breakfast buffets always have vegetarian and vegans options available and clearly marked. Restaurants always have vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.

The itinerary is based on only using local transport by train between the destinations, and only international flight to/from the country is necessary.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

Each year we donate a precentage of the company surplus to a charity organisation who either helps people or the environment. Last year we donated to an NGO organisation cleaning plastic and litter from beaches and coast lines.

We have not considered adding an opt out conservation fee because we feel it is not right as it puts an extra economic burden on the traveler already paying for the trip, and we feel giving something back from the company surplus is an overall better solution.

People

LOCAL ECONOMY

The accommodations in Stavanger belongs to an all Norwegian chain, but with a down to earth friendly atmosphere. Even if the hotel in Oslo is of larger size is not a chain hotel and is a cosy family friendly local hotel. The other accommodation are smaller-scale places with a more home feel and the hotels are locally owned.

Even if the main route follows a trail many others follow, we aim to use the destinations that is not receiving the highest amount of travelers and has a more local feel, like Aurland instead of Flåm. Accessibility with public transportation is also an important factor. Within the destination, we also seek to use local small-scale operators with a focus on sustainability delivering a more authentic experience and also benefiting the local economy.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY

Norway is a very liberal country in general with high equal rights to race, gender, sexual orientation or nationality. All travelers like for example LGBT+ travelers are welcome everywhere.
