Planet
CARBON REDUCTIONThe journey focuses on three main regions, Mexico City, Oaxaca and the Yucatán Peninsula, with several nights in each destination. This allows more time to explore each region rather than moving between a large number of stops.
Domestic flights connect Mexico City, Oaxaca and Mérida, while private road transfers are used for excursions within each region. Once in each destination, walking tours offer opportunities to explore historic centers and neighbourhoods on foot, experiencing the character of each place at a more relaxed pace.
The itinerary also includes visits to working agricultural landscapes, particularly the chinampas of Xochimilco and the milpa in Yaxunah. These experiences introduce travelers to traditional food growing practices and the relationship between local agriculture, regional ingredients and culinary heritage.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
The journey includes several experiences connected with the cultural and natural landscapes of Mexico, from the agricultural waterways of Xochimilco to the countryside and traditional farming practices of the Yucatán.
In Xochimilco, the visit to a working chinampa introduces travelers to an ancient agricultural system that remains part of the area's living heritage. The experience with Arca Tierra focuses on the preservation of these farming traditions and the challenges facing the chinampa landscape today.
In Yaxunah, the visit to a local milpa offers insight into traditional cultivation methods, including the sowing and harvesting of regional crops. The surrounding landscape also includes cenotes, natural sinkholes that hold cultural and historical significance in Mayan traditions.
The itinerary's emphasis on cultural landscapes, traditional agriculture and locally guided experiences provides opportunities to understand how communities have shaped and maintained their environments over generations.

In Becal, the visit to a hat making workshop introduces the skill and patience involved in traditional palm weaving.
In Yaxunah, a community hosted experience brings travelers into a Mayan village to learn about traditional cooking, horticulture and craft making.
