Throughout Vietnam, we make every effort to stay in small, locally owned hotels that reflect the unique character and charm of each destination. We work closely with our local ground partners to implement environmental practices aimed at conserving water and reducing energy consumption.
To further minimize our environmental impact, we prioritize low-carbon methods of travel wherever possible. On this trip, that includes cycling and boat rides in regions such as the Mekong Delta and Ha Long Bay—offering a more sustainable and immersive way to experience the landscape while cutting down on carbon emissions.
We also support the local economy by dining exclusively at locally owned restaurants that use fresh, locally sourced ingredients—ensuring our meals not only reflect authentic Vietnamese flavors but also benefit the communities we visit.
As a travel company we are acutely aware of our impact on the environment. All of our tours display a carbon footprint, and we strive to reduce our emissions by regularly reviewing our tours and embracing low-impact styles of travel such as trains, public buses or walking – which offer the added benefit of getting a closer connection with the destination and local community.

Environment and Wildlife
his trip includes visits to several UNESCO World Heritage sites, with entrance fees contributing directly to the preservation and maintenance of these remarkable locations. As tourism continues to grow in Vietnam, we’re committed to ensuring our groups have a positive impact and lead by example.
We promote responsible travel by recycling and reusing materials wherever possible, and by making sure all waste is disposed of properly. To help reduce single-use plastics, a large central tank of filtered water is available on all our transport, and we encourage travelers to bring refillable water bottles.
We encourage customers to avoid single-use plastic on tour, and our leaders give advice on refill points each day. Where tap water isn't safe to drink we recommend Water-to-Go bottles, a filtration bottle allowing you to drink water from any source.
We strive to support nature and biodiversity through protection and regeneration projects, and for every customer that travels with us we make a donation to Rewilding Britain and Cool Earth.

Our leaders are the heart of tours. They bring passion and unrivalled knowledge of the destinations and communities that we visit. Their guidance ensures we observe the cultural norms in a destination, they act as a bridge between travelers and the local community and ensure that tourism is a positive experience for both host and guest. We believe in supporting local; staying in locally-run hotels, exploring markets, buying snacks from street vendors, and by doing this we add money to the local economy and enhance our connection with the local community.
In Vietnam, we’re proud to work with an entirely local team—from our knowledgeable tour leaders and friendly drivers to expert guides and even cycle mechanics. The hotels we stay in are all locally owned, offering not just a warm welcome but a true reflection of each destination’s character.
To help support the local economy, we include breakfast only, encouraging travelers to explore and enjoy meals at a variety of small restaurants and street food stalls. This approach spreads economic benefit across communities and gives travelers the chance to sample some of the country’s best and most authentic cuisine.
Wherever possible, we choose small, family-run accommodations that embody the charm of their surroundings. One of the highlights of the trip is in Hue, where we visit the home of Mr. Cu—a former national kite-flying champion. Here, guests can learn how to make and decorate traditional Vietnamese kites with symbols like dragons, birds, and peacocks. It’s a fun, hands-on activity, especially for families, and a meaningful way to support local artisans.
Later in the journey, we spend time in the Mekong Delta, where travelers have the chance to visit small local workshops and purchase handmade goods such as coconut candy, puffed rice, popcorn, and rice wine. These experiences not only support family businesses but also offer a fascinating window into daily life and traditional craft in rural Vietnam.
By working closely with local people and supporting small businesses, this trip is designed to give back to the communities we visit—while offering travelers a richer, more authentic experience.

Employment, Inclusivity and Diversity
We work with a local partner in Vietnam that is entirely Vietnamese-owned and Vietnamese run, providing employment opportunities for local people across the many areas of Vietnam where they operate.
In order to give you the best insight into the local culture we employ local tour leaders on this trip who can offer a true insight into local life, as well as explain the history and culture of the region. Using local leaders is consistent with our policy to generate local employment and deliver direct economic benefits to the areas we are traveling in. It is important that the people who work for us are treated fairly and confident in their work. This is why we take care to train all our local tour leaders and give them all the support they need to do their job well.
