5 out of 5 stars

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Oh that is a difficult one. I guess it was the Reindeer selection ring, where the herders catch their reindeer for market. The melee was amazing and no one was hurt, but a fantastic experience. Then there is the photographing of a moose that was 5 meters away. Being able to enter the Sami Parliament.
2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Take good thermal underwear, whatever quality your clothing it will not be warm enough.
3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I do believe in responsible tourism and the few gifts I did buy were made by the Sami people and I knew from my guide, where the money went.
4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
I am going to need to find a word other than awesome as I used it so many times. This was the first vacation (other than as a child) where the trip was not arranged by me, I knew I was going to Lapland and had a guide, so everything else was a suprise. I must say that Riitta outdid herself. Absolutely everything was thought of and worked really well. My guide was brilliant and went the extra mile. What started as a photo trip, became the vacation of a lifetime and Lapland has a place in my heart forever.

Saimaa ringed seals among the most endangered seals in the world, having a total population of only about 400 individuals. The service provider is a local nature photographer, who knows where to find the seals without disturbing their life.
People
Local, professional photographers are working as guides giving you the best possible expertise both in photography and local life. In Savonlinna, you will have time to visit a medieval castle and learn about regional history and participate in a food workshop preparing local salty and sweet pastries called "lörtsy" for yourselves as lunch. On the way from Savonlinna to Kuhmo, you will stop at Koli, also known as the national landscape of Finland. Every Finn has a photo of this location in their home albums. After the wildlife night, you will spend a night in a Karelian guesthouse, have a real Finnish sauna and enjoy a Karelian dinner.
